Changed output resolution per request.

sweet.

so we’ll be animating to 640 x 355? what was the final res again?

We’d been talking 1440x972 or 1920x1040 for final delivery – but as long as we keep with the 1.85:1(***) ratio with 640x355 composition, we can take time deciding what the target form of presentation is going to be… at least until the shader guys have to finalize stuff. We definitely need to know the final rez before targeting procedurals. In the grand scheme of things, there isn’t enough size difference between those two target rez to make the decision based on render time.

*** give or take a few pixels. Anamorphic HD gives me a headache.

A couple more notes… 1920x1040 resolution is basically full HD resolution, but it scales fairly nicely to 1280x720 (EDTV, what most ‘high def’ screens really are, at least in the States). The pixel dimensions aren’t exact translations, but they’re close enough (give or take 50 pixels of horizontal resolution), and bigger is always better if we can afford the render time, which, based on the shading and lighting doesn’t seem like it will be too much of an issue.

1440x972 is simply 2x NTSC D1 resolution – a 4:3 standard TV ratio, and I’d vote against that one. I like the widescreen composition, and chances are we’ll be playing back on a plasma or LCD screen of some sort anyhow.

BLOCKING for TOMORROW.

It MUST be in!!! I have my beady eyeball upon all of you! Anyone who does NOT post their blocking WILL get PMd with…ahem…

Just turned mine in, and it’s still Wednesday… on the west coast at least

C’mon guys, let’s get some scenes in the can! :wip: :wip: :wip:
