I am curious why jbgamboa recommended QUT? Are you an ex-student?
If so, is your lecturer still teaching in the animation faculty? :shrug:

Be sure to check student portfolio on Youtube and Vimeo before signing up.
They should be able to demonstrate good application of fundamental animation
principles to create animations that has a sense of weight and natural movement.

Digital Tutors’ videos on animation is a good starting point to grab some basics.
