Animating 'invisible' property of vraylight

#1

I’m trying to turn the ‘invisible’ parameter of a Vraylight on and off in specific frames, with autokey on.
Unfortunately, that parameter is not being recorded. I’ve tried to look in the curve editor to add keys manually, but there’s no such property. Any idea?

Generally you can’t animate “checkbox” parameters.

Normally for light animate multiplier param. 0 = no light.

Again, generally there’s visibility track but, don’t know why separate light visibility from its multiplier?

To be honest, have never used visibility track neither for any obj. But it’s there

Hey Domos,
thanks, but I’ve already tried the visibility track. It doesn’t work as intended.
I need to animate that parameter because I have a vraylight that in a certain frames comes in front of the camera and I have to turn it off. But in other frames I need it to be visible.
As you can see, the invisible parameter is just not there.

Why don’t you keep it invisible all time?
Invisible doesn’t mean light off, you will even see light shape in reflections.

If you want to see the light shape directly by camera and have option to animate its visibility you can make some self illuminated mesh obj. (or maybe VRay mesh light) at same place as (invisible) light.

But wouldn’t that be weird, light (shape) disappearing just because camera come behind it?

Suggestion: Make some mesh obj. with shape of some real world lighting source (bulb or whatever) and keep it visible all time (and VRay light invisible checked (and not affecting reflect.)).
Or just VRay light always invisible.
