animate size thingy

#1

Lets say your animating something

and you want a specific portion of the model to change size or something

how would you do that?

#2

Scale the bone that has those points assigned to it.

#3

i had to use bones???

#4

Not necesary. Yo can also do it with a Percentage Pose in muscle mode.

#5

You can also just go straihg into muscle mode in the action or chor, select the appropriate CP’s and use the scale manipulator.

Yeah, like Manta said, there are several ways you can do this. Distortion boxes can also be used, and they have their own unique drawbacks and advantages. But really, Zandoria’s technique is the simplest.

Bear in mind that a bone with Control Points attached to it is for all practical purposes just a named group of CPs. It is visible, so it’s easy to select. And just like any other group of CP’s you can specify its pivot point (the start position of the bone). This pivot point is the one around which the CP’s will grow or shrink, when you scale the bone.
