Good to have you back Ego :). Now, we need to see some art so that we can all be wowzsed into oblivion by your stellar improvement from the fantastical magic school in florence
art art art!
Anatomy Thread of Queensoul
View from the painting atelier. Looking directly down at the Piazza De la Republicca (am pretty sure I damaged the name)

Yeah, oh art
They should just make it so that the minute you cross into florence, the muses just magically endow you with the art spirits of the old masters. Alas, that didnt happen. But it was fun anyway.
Life drawing class. Nitram charcoal, and chalk on fabriano roma paper.

Will post more tomorrow. Sick and tired a lot.
Hi Queenie,
Must have been great walking on the streets of firenze, in the great manâs footsteps (Michelagnolo).Lucky you!![]()
Its a pilgrimage I will be looking forward to make!
Nice work on those paintings , you are improving rapidly ! The duhrer face is also cool!

Oh wow, great drawing Queenie! Please show more.
Everytime Iâm in Italy I manage to not go to Florence⌠always passing itâŚ
Good to see you had good weather
More pics please!
So cool. Great life drawing. I do know how hard it is to draw from life. Well, for me itâs maybe just much more harder to draw women, and if itâs from life, Iâm dead. Tried once, wonât do that again for some time
Itâs so cool, I mean, you could make turntable from all those drawings showed in the photo of drawing studio
Hello Siju: Thanks for stopping by my thread. It was quite exciting roaming around the streets(when I was able to).
I could not stop gaping in wonder at everything. I think I went slightly nuts when I entered the ufizzi gallery.
Too bad they didnt allow picture taking. I was only able to squeeze out a couple of shots. Oh well, I could take photos of the statues outside. I will post these later as soon as Ms. Kimmel tells me where
Marlon: Thanks for stopping by buddy. Your continued support means a lot to me.
The weather was mostly very hot; But it rained a couple of days. I think 3 or four days in a row and ALWAYS starts at the same time: 3pm!
Such a weird thing. You could however taste the excitement in the air once it started raining. I saw some people take to the streets and start playing in the rain. Must have been some crazy tourists.
LOL razz! Thanks for visiting me. Life drawing is awesome. I was however shaking like a leaf during each session, not having really done full life figure drawing before (only portraits). I started relaxing when I realized that every single person in class was just as nervous as I was.
So I started adhering to the creed of the academy. '1. Stop spending so much time in front of your easel. 2; Dont make more than one mark at a time while you are standing in front of your easel. Step back into sight size, squint, step to the easel, make a mark and step back into sight size.
3. SQUINT, SQUINT, and SQUINT again. This apparently is the holy creed.
4. Draw what you see. Not what you think is there or what you know should be there. â
etc etc.

Hey Queenie! Good to see you back and with quite an improvment in the luggage
The lifedrawing you posted on the previous page is really nice, youâve leveled up for sure (sorry, me and Ailsa were joking about leveling up in âartâ the other day)
Anyway, youâve made me want to attend that workshop⌠Argh so many things to do and so little money and time
Btw, since youâve been gone, hereâs a smiley I did for Rebecca:
(and a bonus one:
)

[/b]Great to have you back Ego. Your lighting has improved incredibly in those life studies. Many hugs.
HiâŚQueenSoulâŚ:applause:
Really like the charcoal and chalk woman drawing, and the last charcoal man drawingâŚnice lighting and atmosphere, great technique.
Sounds like you had a FANTASTIC ADVENTURE, and created a memory worth cherishingâŚ![]()
GREAT to have you back on the forum, and canât wait to see you put all the things you were taught over there into practice in your new worksâŚ:bounce:
TAKE CARE
Glenn
awwwww thank you very much guys. Martin, it sure is nice to be back and itching to have a go with the techniques. Glenn, you are correct, I cant wait to start practising the heck out of those techniques.
Hey Peter, for sure! I wish I could go back too :D. Like the teachers told us when we expressed jealousy over their displayed work, âconstant practice.â
Some heads I had done for Rebecca Kimmel. Master copy

And another

Cant wait for my easel to get here.
Hmm may have to take down this last one. Something has gone wacky with the charcoal during scan.
hey Peter I love those smilies; Hope you dont mind if I snag it
Queenie,
You are really kicking a**! :bounce:I totally love seeing the studio pictures and the picture of the piazza. If you could also post those pictures of your teachers, I might be able to use Peterâs new drooling icon.
Apart from the silliness, I really think that Glenn is right about the Portraits ~ youâve really invested something of yourself in them, and it shows, as they have an emotional resonance beyond the page. Nice work there, QS! As well I love how you describe your experience at the Uffizi and in Florence in general. Your life drawings show so much promise and I am so proud of you for having improved so much! Itâs fantastic to see the depth of your enthusiasm, and I really look forward to seeing what step you take next in your artistic path.
Cheers,
~RK
Hey guys, for those that need refs. Here is the first set from Florence. I tried to shrink a little but really the purpose is to have it a bit high so you still have details.

Life painting. Oil on oil color paper.
This got some dirt/lint on it and I still dont know how to get rid of it without ruining the painting. So forgive the nasty little specs on there.
