Hope to see more of your work soon!
Hey pooks, all is well.
Keeping busy running all around LA. So far, so fun. I’m proud of my students so far, and hoping for another good semester. Hope you’ll post some of your pictures here (photos) as well!
Hello guys, its been a long time since I had fun with my digital tablet. This is a study I did in painter and some photoshop for an oil painting. It was a drapery study The model is MarieCatherine (MC), a young and beautiful Canadian artist.
I started with a rough pencil sketch which I then scanned ( camera is broken) into photoshop. I rushed to complete this image for d’artiste but I was not able to bring it to a finish like I wanted to.

Hi Ego !!!
very interesting and beautiful thread to watch on, I like the paintings . . . specially
keep more coming . . .
Hey awesomness! Love progression across the board! Your oils are so well executed, and you can see that foucs pulling into your digital stuff. Splendid!
Hey, thanks Deepam and Martin.
I sure missed the sheer joy of just wacking away on the wacom. My new mantra: “I must nurture all the artists within me.”
hey Queensoul… long time
I haven’t been around much
Just had to say your recent paintings are so great! i love seeing how much you put into learning and practising. very inspirational!
ego !
you know i’m already following your work since you started painting, back when you were affraid to post on cgtalk even ! and i must say that every time i see new stuff from you i keep getting impressed by the progress you’re making. Nice that you took painting that serious and apparently those workshops are realy paying off. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
ps: omg, WoF is alive … ALIIIIVVEEE
Hey Queenie, nice to see you popping in.
I think this last piece shows great improvement and it’s good to see you doing digis again.
If I may crit a bit, I’d say the arm on the right needs a bit of work, as it seems a little stiff compared to the other arm. I love the way you’ve painted the face! I’d like to see the same fluidity carried over into the drapery as well - maybe a little more hue variation to enliven the cloth a bit more, or slightly more dramatic lights and darks. Overall a strong piece, hope to see more.
Hi …QueenSoul…
…GREAT TO SEE YOUR LATEST…![]()
I was thinking that maybe a little of that cloth color reflected onto her skin, might unify the painting more…looks a little cutout/flat around the face area on the side where the cloth is pulled up against her face,…a little reflected color cast on the shadow side of her face might give the extra depth needed in that area.
Also the focal point of the painting is her face, …so you might want to create some crisp edges on the cloth in that area…bringing the cloth into focus more in the focal point of the painting…and around the hands also maybe…Just a couple of thoughts that might be of use to you.
ANYWAY,…REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING MORE OF YOUR WORK…AND THE BEAUTIFUL PROGRESS THAT’S HAPPENING WITH IT…
