Anatomy Thread of DDS - 3D

I like her back in particular! really sumptuous looking…

I think you need to pay more attention to feet on your models - both of them seem to have really crooked toes :scream: - some work on those in addition to the other parts of the models would be only fair since we always look at a person from the feet up and not the other way round  Good job though for such a short time

about polygroups - there really shouldn’t be a problem with those as long as the vertex count remains unchanged… well you’ll be able to repose easily in Z3 so no need to export the mesh :scream: - believe you me, it’s a blessing…

Well about feet…they seem odd to me in both the 3D sketches…but i bet itz because you have not worked on it yet…now allow me to praise torso:thumbsup:

And about clay…com’on i cant carry 50 kg…so please adjust with only a kg for now…You know i will bring more soon:)

P.S.: Many congrats for winning Dominance War:love:

#14

Hey, I came across your Dominance War entry earlier but now can’t find it. Do you have a link? It looked awesome!

#15

dang I swear I replied here yesterday!

Well I was saying thanks to everyone, and I agree with the toe crits. But being sketch I think I can skip such tricky parts because I really think they make me invest so much time that only for that my quickies end up being too much.

I’m not working on 3D anymore guys. Not until the 15th. It’s just ridiculous what you can do in ZB3, I don’t wanna waste my time in v2, I feel silly and I also feel like my work is pointless!!! (mostly for the zspheres). But I got a license so I’ll get my free upgrade in 2-3 days

Now I’m doing some clay practice thanks to Richa that supplied it, but I’ll post maybe tomorrow, maybe never! lol (hopefully the 1st).

Rebbeka thanks! you can check my entry here

#16

Excuses! Although I probably won’t be able to do much on the 15th anyway since I have an animation to render!

#17

excuses…mmmh…well that’s true. I didn’t say the real reason why i’m not doing shit. Me and my mate are playing WoW! Great! I said it, yuhuuuu. ZB3 will rule over it though, my expectations, right now, are over anything else!!!

Pixoooo…logic don’t make me sad

#18

oh they won’t  - it rules the universe! … sidenote: I’ll never get the WoW thing I guess…

#19

hey, after some time I get to post something. I’ve been very busy with work and also a little lazy (obviously recovering from long hours of work…:P) so the update is not much.

I’ve been messing with ZB3 and made this head, its still WIP like everything else. It took a while since I was practicing with all the new tools. Then today I spent 1 or 2 hours roughing out the body. I hide hands and feet since they aren’t even at that level.

BTW she will be dressed with some outfit I have a couple sketches for.

#20

WOW, Albert!! Thats some awesome stuff on her head!!:bounce: Did you make it in ZB from scratch with the new “extract” thingy or did you bring it over from Maya/Max/XSi(etc.)? Btw, her back and lower body look really nice, while the shoulder/chest area could use some work. How do you plan to join the head to the body?

#21

thanks man  yeah I masked polygons on her head and then hidden & extracted. New tools are awesome!

oh, and I’m not going to use the body at all for the final piece, since she will be dressed from neck to toes, just practicing. If by any chance I have to join them I guess I’ll use whatever he uses in that tutorial of joining heads to a body, or maybe use the necklace haha

#22

that’s a big blank canvas to detail in that dress…I wonder if I’ll get bored or something. Zbrush3 just has too many new things to explore and test… (although it crashes more than 2). Lots of stuff to work on still (mainly body and dress).

Btw the net is just temporary, I HATE it now (after doing it).

#23

Odd, but I can’t tell: Is that a very flat perspective, or isometric?

Some really interesting work here so far. That dress is a really different design, I’d like to see it broken down with different colours just to get a sense of how that’ll play. The hands ache for some TLC, but it seems like the overall gesture of the sculpt holds up really well in the dress. I like the nude sculpt a fair bit too, I think you hit all the key points correctly… or at least past my ability to comment

The bottom of the nostrils seem flat, going right into the skin above the lip instead of having a ledge. There is a bit more muscle running along the jaw then one would expect, seems just a touch puffy. Really great work on the face in general, other then little quibbles there isn’t to crit. Combines a bit of sterness and femininity, tough to do.

#24

kary ur feedback is most appreciated I will definitely come back to the head! (and yes, I use isometric, it’s just screenshot in modeling stage

2-3 more hours tonight. Damn I slept in office last night and I’m so tired, maybe that’s because I made that mistake (oops). I’m starting to get fast with transpose tool, I think that it will be great after some more hours with it!! The posing was cool except when I zoomed out

#25

really like how you’re doing those lacey effects

there’s one thing that’s just bugging me too much not to speak  - her neck is way too thick - she’s got them muscles like a guy athlete and it’s also flaring out way too much towards the bottom  - compare her fierce head and neck to the frailty of the rest of her body - the mismatch is really jumping out at the mo!

#26

damn I think modeling head and body separately hasn’t been a good idea, I can’t believe I missed that. Maybe also coz I didnt use any ref. I just wanted to test myself. Result: FAIL :frowning:

#27

Well, I keep my -no reference- practice. I’m sure it’s all full of mistakes (apart from the stuff which is obviously rough like hands and feet) so crits and comments are welcome.

Anyways it will all be covered by freaking dress.

Btw, Transpose rocks. Such a solid tool, it’s worth all the money of ZB3. Oh wait, upgrade was FREE.

#28

hey chote,
aalbert…the pose looks cool man… and to be frank my eyes were poppin out when i was watchin u pose that model so quickly…
dude the pose look really cool… but as far her fingers r concerned , i think only v both know how did that happened:P
but neways i know u gonna nail that…
cant wait to see the fiinished stuff man…:buttrock:

#29

thanks samar

I made her less happy and sketched the dress a little while I was hearing how F.C.Barcelona match didn’t make us win spanish soccer league.

Nice way to visually pop the dress out. Very good work on the dress too. While I’m not sure I could name the fabric (stiff cotton?) the detail is great and the folds are nice – the top is nice and subtle, the density of creases in the bottom make it a bit harder to pick up.

I think the stomach is not right right now. Fat doesn’t get into that configuration with the top two muscles like that. Or if it does, the vertical cleft should be lost.

I like how the face reads in the left render in model4m.jpg. It seems a little softer from that angle… but it could be the difference in shader. The dark red wax isn’t kind, and everything else is well shown off from in the 3/4 that you’re using in the most recent shot.

Nice job getting her into position, that pose is solid and natural. Only thing one could ask for is a little more weight on her left hand and then the curve up the spine, but I think that’d be a ton of work to nail down even with the transpose stuff :).
