Hi Corvax! Nice head!.. hmmm… looks like you need to scale it down quite a bit in Z axis.
Anatomy Thread of Corvax - 2D/3D
Love the classical study - great sense of volume and there’s enough mood there to keep me interested as well.
Strong points are that the overall volume is very strong and confident, and the shading I don’t feel is overdone.
A few minor weak points - the hands seem a touch small, but without the original it’s hard to know. Would love to see a bit more turn in the transition from the upper to the lower arm. Would also love to see you work a bit on the consistency of the shading. You might try experimenting by drawing on good quality, toned paper, with black charcoal with a white charcoal or conte / nupastel for highlights as finishing touches.
Overall, a lovely drawing. Was this for a class as well?
Also love the cartoon, refreshing to see you display your sense of humor.
HEY…David…![]()
GREAT TO SEE YOU IN ACTION AGAIN…
I like that Z BRUSH head…maybe the little fork shape on the inside of ear, should point more straight up towards the top of the ear I think…
That figure study with the ropes around the hands…OUTSTANDING JOB:applause:
REALLY BEAUTIFUL WORK THERE ON THAT ONE…:bounce:

hi guys, sorry for the late reply.
RK: thanks for stopping by … Am I understating you correctly, did you just encourage a drumroll, firework, explosions GRAND SLAM SUPER EKSTREAM ART SUPPLY DAY!! - if so, then… yeah I might just do that.
SpiritDreamer: thanks mate.![]()
Abyss103: currently I’m attending a course in foundational arts at the Glyptotek here in Copenhagen, nothing fancy.
and right back at ya’ - always like to see more Danes, we are a rare species in the online art communities.
Here is a painting from one of Ron Eyre’s great pictures. never did get around to the feet though.

LOL - indeed, I always encourage art supply days.
Hey this portrait of Ronnie is looking good, you ought to let him know you’ve done this piece (he has a Sketchbook of his own now). Hope to see you push the modeling and it would also be great to see more of your traditional drawings.
Hey, Corvax! That’s looking really good! Thank you. Rebecca just told me about it. Are you going to finish it? LOL I know feet are bloody AWFUL things to draw, especially mine! Hehe. It’s looking very greyish; I feel that it could do with some richer browns here and there?
Ronnie.
Hey David! Great to see you back, mate! thats a very nice torso!
the naval has gone down almost three inches, though!.. and the back could use some work.
anandpg: thanks for the suggestions, but I think that for now, I’m happy if I just get anything out of ZB - still learning the app.
Allright so I decide to bring some order to the chaos and actually take on a larger project, instead of just sketching around, so I’m gonna try to do a Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde Illustration.
I only just started today so I haven’t gotten that fare,
but I have made a few sketches trying to figure out the business and the staging.
so fare I’ve got the good doctor, burning himself on something in the lab, and drinking a urine sample :hmm: , I’ll keep trying until something hits.

HEY…David…![]()
Don’t know if this will be of any help to you with this concept, but I will throw it your way anyway…
In the movie version, with Spencer Tracy,…he wanted to make ALCOHOL
the DRUG that changed Dr JEKYLL into Mr HIDE…Alot can be said for that thought…rings pretty TRUE…I THINK…
Anyway, good luck on this concept…GREAT draftsmanship and emotion in those two shots that you just posted…![]()

hi’ya glen.
yeah I guess that alcohol can bring out the Hyde in some people, at the moment I am finding the idea a little hard to implement in a illustration.
But it did spark an interesting thought… I heard somewhere that when you consume alcohol, your brains functions shut down in the reverse order that they were evolved, essentially in the end leaving you with brain functions similar to that of a reptiles (which would be to mate, eat and fight). so maybe Hyde takes form as reptile or at least he is more animal then Jekyll.
maybe a bit extreme in this one, but it should give me a nice starting point.

The ZB work seems to be coming along well to me :), and these last Hyde sketches are really solid. Definitely know whats going on, they communicate well, etc. Not sure how common this prejudice is, but I have some trouble with ‘transforming’ characters when their mass changes a lot. In ‘earnest chemist form’ he’s quite thin and the monster is very hefty so the connection is a bit stretched for me. Most of the monster design could easily transition to a a lighter frame, so it’s not an issue if it’s something you think might be a problem.
Good stuff David
hey rene!
really strong sketches and great designs on those dr. jekyll and mr. hyde.
when i saw the second one, i kinda imaginged a threatning mr. hyde or his shadow in the background, with an evil grin on his face.
looking forward to see your future progress on this one.

HEY…David…
GREAT PORTRAIT…:applause:
…Maybe just a tad softer along the edge of her forhead on the left side of the canvas…if you isolate that planes edge, it tends to flatten out right at it’s edge, instead of having the roundness that receeds in space under her hair…just a minor detail and crit…
…REALLY NICE ONE…David…KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK …![]()
