Anatomy Thread of Anand - 2D/3D

Hey Anand, great work so far on this latest project. Here are a few crits and suggestions for you. The elbows are starting to look too wide, maybe the brachioradialis is inserted to high up the humerus? Personally I find the hips a little to wide and the ribs too narrow, it makes her look pinched bellow the ribs. Her Sternomastoid looks a bit thick and pronounced making her neck look a bit thick. Other than that I’m really digging the model! I’ll have to get the new Zack Petroc movies soon, I couldn’t order them the other day for some weird reason.

And for the Rodin, damn! That looks awesome, I’m glad you fixed the pose, she looks gorgeous!

#462

hey Anandpg…nice to hear that, as its the same with me also as i also grew up reading and listining to all the great Indian epic stories…thats y my interest is getiing bigger and bigger with this piece of scene!!!..

as for the critq, i think plunq has already mentioned some good points…IMO, the bicep conecting the forearm is looking a bit weird, and she is looking a bit bottom heavy, i mean below the waist, her hips and thighs are looking quite wide and big…else…she is looking great!!!..

Hi …Anand …

Great to see you doing a piece from the Hindu origins…Great sorce of creation stories, myths and visions…a very deep well to draw inspiration from…for sure …
On her figure, …you might add a few curves on the outter edges of her hips, to show the muscle groups that make up the hip…same with the thighs…inner and outter edges…shoulders …arms ect…
The outter edges of her figure at the moment, lack the wavey rhytums created by the interlacing of the different muscle groups…The inner groups of muscles look great,…carry those through to the outter edges also,…creating that outter edge rythum…just a passing thought…
Looking forward to seeing the progress on this theme…GREAT THEME…

Hey Joel! Thanks for the critiques, buddy!! Will work on them.

Hi Dhruba! Thanks a lot! I think I will have to change her proportions around quite a bit during the process… need to find what works best.

Hey Glenn! Thanks a lot!! You are right… she is all straight lines now. will have to work on the outer curves.

Some changes: filled her out a bit because she has just given birth, according to the story… besides, Indian women usually tend to hoard a bit more than their fair share of fat.;)(man! you should see some of the actresses here!! :argh: …) The hair is stand in… just to see how the head works. the final hair will have to be more dynamic.

 I’m already in love with this scultpure !

It’s interesting to read about your own country myths ! :applause:

#466

Great story!
I’m sure we will be spoiled again

Are you planning to make it another “statue-like” sculpt or perhaps putting the characters in an environment?

#467

dude… that old lady sitting down is perfect… HOT!
love how the chick is turning out, yeah check out the hip joint, there’s a bump on the outer edge on the thigh, could use a slight bump I think. and maybe her neck is a little long? I suppose it does give them more elegant look. sweet work!

#468

hey Anand…thats a nice update…i’m already liking that fuller body version…much more indian feeling…keep that up…waiting for some more updates…!!!

#469

Hey Anand, great update! My only comment now is if she’s just given birth I don’t think her belly should be so buff. I like the changes you’ve done but think you could go further in adding more weight to her. Anyway, I’m really looking forward to seeing where you take the final, keep up the great work.

hi anand, nice update man. The breast seam slightly too big for me , they look unnatural atm otherwise it’s off to great start. keep it up :arteest:

#471

Hey Serena! no, no, no!!.. its not myth! its all true!!:wise:
(hehehe… just kidding!:D)

Hey Johan! thanks! I want to put them in a real environment with textures and all… unless I turn lazy!!

Hey Min! thanks for stopping by! I really have quite a bit to learn from you about creating chicks! Your “fashion” drawings are a real inspiration!:scream:

Hey Dhruba! thanks, man!

Hey Joel! thanks!.. I think I will do quite a bit of sculpting and moving the volume around after I pose her.

Hey Nicolas! Thanks, dude!

Update… experimenting with pose…

#472

pg !! you da best, man !! cant wait to see this done !! this is exciting !!

the body, like you said, is very true to the classic indian figure :) and oh !! man !! her backside... oh so perfect... man you're soo good with that part !! you guys should've seen the female model he created for a test project at the studio... i still have dreams about her !!

but, the face... looks more like a child's... and at the same time there's something a little masculine abt it... i dont know what it is though.. the eyes maybe ? are they too big ?

anyways !! its all good buddy !! Always !!

:buttrock:

#473

hey anand!

tuut tuuut, here comes the sculpting master (edit: as in you)… -man, great work, on her.
not sure if it’s intented, but i don’t think here head looks very indian, more like the head of a european sculpture (-think it’s due to the fairely large eyes). i think her body could easily fit on a indian, though (and what a great pose, very natural).

sorry if you already have mentioned something about what i just wrote. haven’t read though all of the last pages.

keep up the great work, man.

Hi …Anand …

NICE CURVES … INSIDE AND OUTSIDE

Her breast would be full as you have them…she has just given birth …
Maybe a slight indacation of the point of her rib cage under her breast,…the part where the ribs all join together and makes that nice shape or indentation that seperates the stomach muscles from the ribs and side muscles…key landmark for any figure…will add support to the wieght of the breast…visually so to speak.
You might want to lower the inside curve created by her calf muscle…should be lower than the outside curve on her lower leg.
She also needs a little more meat on those feet, and ankles, to support the wieght of that BEAUTIFUL BODY…
About the eyes …Probably hard for you to notice it, being surrounded all the time by them, but women from INDIA have the most BEAUTIFUL eyes out there…BED ROOM EYES… …Has to do with the coloration of the shin I think that surrounds the eye…kind of a NATURAL shadowy look,…that really makes them UNIQUE, BEAUTIFUL, and VERY DISTINT …Can also be seen in new born babies from INDIA…VERY DISTINT, BEAUTIFUL, AND ALSO UNIQUE. The best example of it,that I can think of,… can I think, be found in the eyes ironically of a male actor from the MID EAST…OMAR SHAREIF…He’s in the movie Larence of ARABIA…check it out …BEDROOM EYES…
KEEP UP THE …GREAT WORK …Anand…VERY INSPIRED, AND ALSO VERY INSPIRING…

Hey Anand!
AWESOME work!! :applause:
Really looking forward to its progress and how you sculpt King Shantanu…
Just a small request…Did you do some rough sketches of the pose and Shantanu and Ganga? If so, could you please post those? It would be great to see where does the idea start!

Post updates soon…
Ratul

#476

Hey JC! you’re crazy!

Hey Ramsus! Thanks, man! I will try out some variety in looks and features as I go! …will keep what you said in mind.

Hey Glenn! thanks as always for the support and guidance!:scream: Your comments are really helpful… I will remember them as I go along.

Hey Ratul! thanks, dude… I will post some sketches, let me see.

Update: Ganga with child(borrowed from the Rubens piece… hehe!!:D) Still working on the pose. I will start refining the anatomy more after I get the posing right… With the layers palatte in ZB3, I can always go back to the default pose, and I can have different poses in different layers!:bounce:

#477

Great work, as always !

I feel the right leg of her is little twisted, as in, the shank seems little more swiveled than the femur. (I think so, maybe I’m wrong) Could you just look into it.
Also I feel the hair should be more on her left side. (coz gravity)

…still she looks perfectly balanced, good work! 5 * !

#478

Hi anandpg. you have awesome works in here! very nice anatomy. your 3d models look so real and the poses are so great.
Your last pic is coming out nicely, I really like her eyes. I would love to see more :bounce:

#479

Incredible update. I know you are just “planning” the scene and then you’ll work on details like expressions hair etc etc, so I won’t be boring now.

The single thing that makes me “mmm” a little is HOW she brings the baby. It seems to be a protective behavior (she gots him near her sinus) instead a killer-mum one.

Hope it will help, good work !

where are the updates man! i loved your work so much that i went though all of the pages of your thread…and now im tired, but glad that it was such lovely pieces of art and skill.
