anatomy studying advice

Hi guys

I have been studying anatomy for a month now but i am lost and to be honest I don’t know how should I study it everyone tell me you should study anatomy to be good at characters but the problem is i don’t know the way of learning it ,is it by reading proportions or just sculpturing it

p.s.
I don’t know how to paint and I hope that wouldn’t be a problem
