Hello
@YMS, thanks for the comment
@Intervain really cool painting , which technique did you use ?
@MechaHateChimp great works ? Is it 2d PC or traditional ?
@NR43 Cool to see some talented old school drawing
Jojo
Hi all!
Been doing some quick sketches and some large drawings, am enjoying this so much and try to get some done when I can steal the time
N343 - Thanks for your comments! It’s fun to draw big, the amuzing transition is from easel to computer with black fingers scream
You’re flying along here - keep them coming and keep enjoying the process!
YMS - thanks too for comments - your torsos are going really well
beautiful & painterly!
Laleloh - I really like the softness in yours - nice studies!
Intervain - nice to see work from you again - a quick contribution and you’ve created flesh that jumps off the screen! bounce
Bell7- That last one of yours has a real marble feel about it, yet it’s got the softness of expression too… well done!
I don’t know digital at all, but perhaps working quicker and leaving some of the soft edges has helped, nice face too!
Jojo1975 - You have some nice hatching on that last one (the back) - keep up the drawing! the more you draw the more you see - and the more you want to keep drawing…
so many more great ones: big thumbs up all! (I’ve used up all my emoticons…)
a few quick sketches using a blue pen on A4 paper. Hmm need to ask Rebeccak , is it ok to revisit a torso? as in 2 of these I’ve posted already, but as different drawings. I just like to do several drawings of the same one sometimes, but totally understand if you’d rather 50 different torsos… :wavey:
cheers all and take care
a.
YMS - thank you very much
I really like the bold colours of your Suvee
jojo1975 - thanks
well just simple photoshop hard brush and that’s it
nothing fancy… first blocked out basic shapes and colours and then layered blobs on
Frejasphere - cheers
good to be back! Really like your last ones - those colours are very much your signature!
another Rubens - this time from The Holy Family with Sts Elizabeth and John the Baptist - with a lot of artistic license - and you can definitely tell the lack of patience
Trying to catch up a little bit:
Bell7, I likes it!
MHC & Zhu-zhu, you guys rock!!
I felt like I could do this one better (005), so I gave it another try. I forgot to keep track, but it was several hours, more than 5 for sure, but probably less than 10. The angle of the shoulders and head tilt are still wrong . . .

Here’s number 5. Everybody’s been very prolific this weekend. I tried to do this one in the same pastel hatching style as “Dawn” that everybody liked, but got tired of all the hatching and started over. I tried an oil pastel brush and got something looser, which is good seeing as I can be so anal about details. Still not quite happy with the face, but it is time to move on to the next one.

Jancko- Really like your fluid line work, and the coffee stained looking paper is cool.
MechaHateChimp- Very prolific! Like the marble veining and your new addition of color!
Bell7- Great “Dying Slave”- it has a very soft feeling and I like your strong adaptation of “Neptune”.
Intervain- Your "Three Graces has a really whispy etherial quality about it.
Laleloh- Your graphite drawings have a really strong sense of form.
Frejasphere- Your Rubens and Michelangelo have great color- very gaughan-like.
Thanks to everybody for your great comments/compliments!
There is so much fab work here
This is tonights torso, spent the couple of hours mainly trying to do the face justice and work out some texturing for her body.
