Anatomy Lesson Series: Body Part 2 - The Torso

cgicecube, that 3D form is awesome… really cool study.
jancko, your studies are great, it’s good to see your hatching progress.
laleloh, keep going, the more you draw the more you learn from yourself.

A few more. W/ these I wanted to focus more on each individual muscles instead of sketching the outline and trying to fill in. Saves alot of time and erasing, and helps me to understand the shape better.

I have a terrible scanner at work, so I added the antique affect to these and it helped the quality alot.

I must say that I’m inspired by everyone here. There are some really great works here, and I’m glad for such a community where veryone works together to help each other improve.

And on that note I’ll give some comments when I’m not working.

Keep it up everyone.

Redsand, amazing sketches. Meritorious work

Ytresu, lovely sketches from you too. Would like to see more work on the colored ones.

Lexlex, good luck on the hatching stuff. Trying to get the hang of it myself  Awesome lines, I must say!

CgIcecube, great to see a 3d work in here!! I would advice to sculpt it.

Icey, yay! Great to see you here!

Puppeli, I like the painting, despite the proportional mistakes. Please do more! Maybe that will make me do a few of the torsos in acrylics too, although I’m bad at painting…

Nothingness, keep rocking, mate!

MechaHateChimp, inspirational sketches, great skill  Looking forward to that video!

And great work everyone else!! Just no time to comment all of the work. Keep working, keep it good!

My little one not to leave this post only with letters

This is the first time posting on here. I want to participate but havn’t much time. I figure I will do what I can and go for quality less quantity in my case. I am starting a master copy of one of my favorite painters; Jose de Ribera, titled: San Ornufi. I will only post one image per piece, and update as I progress, so as not to take up excess space.
For some reason my image is not showing. Will give it a day.

Welcome, AztcFireFlower!

(I think that after another post or so from you, your image will show up...)

Inspiration galore in this thread!

(And thanks everyone for your comments on my torsos-I’ll have more to say with my next set  )

Thanks jancko. The hand looks a little funny to me too… although I was pretty faithful to the orginal - but I think it blended with the background more so was less noticable. (excuses, excuses eh!)

Thanks LaleLoh too. Sensitive line work you’ve got there! Good stuff.

vanlicht - good stuff. I especially like the David.

Nothingness - I can see you got carried away and did the whole thing! Great!

#477

theres more than enough on this thread already, but i may as well dump another of mine into the mix…

#478

Hey Aidan,
Nice one. Looking at your style. Very clean strokes and shapes.
Nothingness Nice work on the masses on all the forms.
Vanlicht Like the handling of the subtle shapes on your piece.
YMS Nice pencil. Just started on this thread and have to go through some pages to find everyone’s work.
Will learn much on this thread.
