Am I just stupid?

I am trying to do that Joan of Arc tutorial http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/joanofarc/body1.asp

for practice and I can’t even set the reference pictures up.

I created the planes and made them 512x512. I went to the Material Editor and added the zipped ref pictures as a bitmap. I add the material to the plane but I can’t see anything in the viewport. When I render I can see the picture but I need to view it in the viewport.

Please help my idioticy. Like always it’s probably a checkmark.

…yes I am…just delete this post. I should just push the “Show Map in Viewport” button…

You can even just put the images in the viewport and put the settings to match like bitmap, display the background and lock zoom/pan and it won’t move so you can create it without problems
