just a quick sketch.
Once i got the design for the pods in the foreground it was just a matter of duplicating. The pods in the distance were just less polygons.
I just added noise to a bump map to give it the texture i wanted.
for my lighting i used two target spots for the vehicle lights and an omni for backlighting.
This is the render before taking the image to photoshop.
The vehicle was done in photoshop and the image resized to make it taller. I used a lens flare filter on the headlights. I am very happy with the result.
I got close to the image I had imagined.
