really? ok, I havenāt worked on the ears for ages but I sāpose we donāt want our earth bugs nesting in his head, do we?
Iāll have a little play with the later on this week. Anything else need working on while Iām at it?
ok, I have done a bit of work on the ear. The back of the ear now protrudes a little away from the head so it looks a little more ear like and not just a hole in his head, which is like I had it. I have also done some work on the inner ear. Is it small enough now?

Just wondering if anyone has any comments or criticisms about the model now? Any suggestions from the director/modelling directors?
I still think you need to make that upper arm thicker in the side view. It just doesnāt have that bulk that Iām looking for.
I also showed your head updates to a friend (just to see if they had any input) ⦠first comment was, āwhatās with the penises on the head?ā
Thatās pretty brutal ⦠but the point is still valid. Those tenticles really need a lot of work. I was hoping to see more detailing done to this model before you posted up for additional critique. He doesnāt look too different than your previous update.
Take a look at the storyboards that are ready. Thereās some character in those sketches that may help get this model pegged.

Yes, it was harsh but fair and I also got a similar remark by one of my friends just before I started work for this update.
I have worked on the tentacles and now they loot a lot better. I think this is the shape you are aiming for, right? I have also made the upper arm wider. Its getting harder to make it wider and not loose detail from other parts of the arm. I have also made adjustments to his legs and weight. When you say awkward, are there any specific areas you think?
Have you had any thoughts about the guards on the shoes? Can you make them elastic attachments or something similar or redesign the shoes altogether?

I think itās ok, very OK, but Kirt is in vacation, we have to wait him back for the final confirmation. 
Ok, this will give me a little ime to get stuck into some other projects while I wait. If anyone else has some criticisms they want to put forward they will be much appreciated.

Hurray, Just won myself a free copy of ExposĆØ at the Adelaide DLF meeting so Iām in a real good mood:D
The current version of the model has been sent to ila, now, Iām Just wondering if anyone has had any ideas about the boot straps yet, whether they are staying or being substituted for something else? I think this modle is nearing completion so Iām looking forward to finishing it off. Let me know if you can think of anything.

Hmm, I think hte general body shape may need a little work, I think his stomach may be a little flat at the moment but I think your pic made him a little to fat. Thanks for hte suggestion though.
Heya! What bugs me a lot since the first shot is that the sole of the foot is smaler then the ankle / lower leg. That looks odd because it looks like he can not stand with it. If you compare to Kirtās sketch the sole is slightly bigger. Makes it look more natural IMO.
Though the plane front perspective makes the feet look very strange too.

Hey everybody. Its been a while sinceI have updated this character, still waiting to hear from kirt, so I thought Iād show the version I sent to ila (well, there have been a few little changes since then). I canāt remember all the tweaks I made off hand but I have made the feet a little wider. Let me know what you think.

Iāve been looking at this guy off and on since your last couple updates trying to pinpoint what it is about him that isnāt sitting right with me. Itās not your modelling, itās the character.
Does anyone other than me see this as not having the personality and character of the 1st alien?
Hopefully, itās just something minor that can be fixed so we can keep the model, rather than starting over. Sorry, donāt mean to scare you ⦠Iām going to do my best to pinpoint the problem and fix this guy.
Right off, Iād say the arms and legs are the biggest culprits. Weāll work with the arms and see if theyāll improve. But Iām afraid we need to amputate those legs and start over.
Iām doing some new sketches for you ⦠hang in there and donāt mess with it just yet. If you have time and want to tweek the arms, hereās a list for you.[ul][]hands are too flat which look like they were run over by a car or something[]Iām still not happy with the width of the upper arm[*]muscles are too defined or ācutā. Remember āover-weight and out of shape wrestlerā. The bulk is there but itās more flabby[/ul]
I think you are right about him looking off somehow. For me the legs have always been a little bit weird. I think its the boots and the knee pads. I will start removing some of the definition from his arms and making the hand rounder. I hope you can figure him out without having to scrap the whole model.
Heres a little update. I have worked on the arms and the body shape, worked on is hands a bit and also gave him some flabby pecks . I also opened his eyes, just because I felt like it.
