After Effects Error

#1

Hi, I use a MacBook Pro. I am having a problem lately with rendering out of AE (CS5). I am doing nothing different from what I usually do in terms of editing clips and rendering them. But lately I am getting an error message from AE when I try to render. Here it is:

After Effects error: Rendering error while writing to file “/Users/(username)/Clip Edit.mov”. Unable to open file. (-1610153459)

Its an error regarding writing to the file. I don’t know if this is a security issue or something like that. I even tried turning off OpenGL before rendering. Nothing seems to be solving it. I really need some help because I have a project due pretty soon and I need to be able to render! The only clue I have is that I recently switched from a MacBook to a MacBook Pro. Nothing is different though! I didn’t change anything! The only difference I see is that the MacBook Pro is a more powerful system. How could that change anything? Please Help!

Is this happening as soon as you click Render, or is it happening partway through the rendering and exporting process?

I was actually able to fix the problem. It would happen as soon as I would click render. I tried saving it on my external hard drive and it worked perfectly fine. I guess I can’t save files that I render on my main hard drive. But this is not a problem for me. Thanks for replying though!
