soooo, i didn’t really know where else to post this info link, because it’s sort of cross platform for many reasons, but if you’re interested in turning your work into an actual 3D model that you can hold, use as a prototype for promoting your work, etc., this site sells 3D printers for about $1,000 U.S., and the plastic used for this setup separately.

in maya, you need to save your files as stl or atleast obj [turn it on in plugins, should come in the basic maya package]. information and videos pertaining to the process are all available on this site, as well. don’t be evil.
