I’m trying to make a tracking in AE of a city flyby - an aerial of a city with the main skyscraper building in the center and the rest of the town beneath. AE’s camera tracker does pretty cool job tracking the main building but I can’t track the background ones. No matter how far I push objects (solids) away from the cam they seem to float somewhere around the midground and not even close to the dead background. >-||
What am I doing wrong guys? Please help!
P.S. The same problem is in Boujou or PFtrack. Can’t catch the background buildings…
if the bg buildings can’t be picked up in all the programs you mentioned, then either it’s an extremely fast motion, or you haven’t set your track settings to have a big enough search regions.
i don’t exactly know how cameratracker works, but judging from some of the tutorials i just saw you can’t really do much with it. try messing around with masks, like mask out the FG buildings so it forces things to track in the background. Then again though i’m not sure how it’s going to merge the 2 sets of 2d trackers, or if that’s even possible. it’s probably way simpler to do in PFTrack or something.
if that doesn’t work, learn how to use Target tracks/User tracks in boujou/pftrack, and use that to add some points for those two bg buildings
