Hi all,
I am looking for a tablet that I can do my stick figure animations on before I take it to the 3D program. I am probably going to go with DigiCel’s Flipbook but I would like a tablet where I can draw directly on the screen like in the Wacom Cintiq 12WX or Cintiq 21UX. The only thing I am having a hard time affording is the price, $1000 and $2000 respectively. Does anyone know a less expensive alternative?

A tablet is a tool , your mind/hands the fuel, hit an Intuos 4 L or XL (this is way big) , save the rest of the your money, and off you go 
u can’t easily move around with that.it has to be stationed.And bisides if u don’t have an absolute reason for purchasing this id advise the intuos 4,really great.the industry guys work horse.burns less energy and affordable too maintain.
I’d also think about the Wacom Bamboo as a decent cheaper option. It does me fine for basic stuff. It’s obviously a step down from the Intuos 4 and I wouldn’t recommend it to people doing concept art or sculpting in zbrush every day but if you just need something to do some simple animation roughs in Flipbook before moving to 3D then it’ll do the job just fine.
I dont know about other people but I find it much more comfortable to actually draw and see the outcome on my tablet in contrast to drawing and seeing an outcome on the seperate screen. A lot of people that worked in an industry for a long time say that once you get your hands on one of the tablets with a built in interface, you will never want to go back to tablets like intuos 4.
