Advanced Skeleton contraints

#1

Hey all,

I have an Advanced Skeleton biped rig that I would like to attach to a motorcycle. I have added constraints to the IKExtraLeg controls and the CenterOffset_M but the IK Arm controls have no parent objects that would allow this. Constraining them directly removes the ability to animate them, I have to animate the target instead which is not optimal. Anyone have experience with this?

i had no problems attaching advanced skeleton rigs to anything, I actually create a group above the top controller and attached this to whatever I wanted.

As for hands/feet controllers there’s and ‘Extra’ above each controller in the outliner that you can constrain to.

yeah bernie there are for feet but not hands.

Also you cannot add these in unless you are in bind pose/default stance because they are usually miles away from the actual hand control - particularly when riding a motorbike.

in the standard biped rig there are “IKExtraArm_R” and “IKExtraArm_F” (you should of course be in IK if you want to attach the hands to the handle) which you can parent control to

#5

sorry Bernie I don’t know why I couldn’t see them before! I actually added the leg constraint to IKParentConstraintArm (instead of IKExtraArm) - but was worried about it already having a parent constraint.

thanks for taking the time to clarify that.
