I am pretty new to Nuke. I am working with an image-sequence/footage of a CG animated character and I am compositing it over a background. The character that has no alpha so I can not apply filters like vol-ray to it. What can I do in Nuke to make the character have an alpha?
I guess you could grade the CG footage and get a matte, but that tends to destroy the edges and won’t look the best.
I recommend you re-render the CG character with an alpha or index object pass.
depends on what you cg character is rendered on, how it looks. maybe you can pull a key or use old but good roto to make a alpha matte. but rerender the cg with alpha is the best method
