accurate joint placement, will this cause problems?

#1

Hello,

i need to place the joints in my characters body in the exact location that they would be if the character were real. I need them to be accurately placed because of a sculpting script i am running later, but never mind that.

I just wanted to know if by placing perfectly accurate joints inside your character mesh would cause problems later on with the rigging and skinning and would maybe create weird deformations. But if i think about it i cant see why this would cause a problem.

any advice on this would be helpful,

thanks alot,
Sam

Certanily not, in fact it is encouraged to place joints in their anatomical positions as very other placement will be worse when it comes to deformations.

Correct joint placement is very important. However don´t forget your joint axis orientation. Othwerwise your deformation will be okay, but animation will be a pain in the… well, you get the message
