Stuff for the table.
Just to let you know, this is not a rip-off of Apt Pupil’s idea, I was planning to do the pilot’s design drawing stuff on the table from the get-go.
And let’s face it, I couldn’t beat Apt Pupil’s effort anyway!
Here we go:

How it’s looking so far. I’ve just realised what the date is, and I’ve realised there is no way I’ll be finishing this challenge on time!!:annoyed:
Ah well, I’ve always said the thing about these challenges is not to finish or to win, but to learn, and I learn a lot!!
Whee! I love doing 3d! :bounce:
Excuse my random outburst of joy, but I just realised how much I really enjoy this!!
Naturally, since my pilot has had many failed attempts, he has decided he didn’t have enough pipes. More pipes obviously means more propulsion… doesn’t it?:surprised
Okay… this one may be hard to explain…
Here goes!
This is the lever that fires the cannon. Since the pilot doesn’t have an assistant, he’s pulling it himself, via a series of pulleys, which then drapes down onto a ready loop for him to release.
Eeep! Wrong pic!
THIS is the lever, the above pic is the cord the pilot pulls to get the lever to work!
The whole point of these challenges is to improve our skills Axie! Join in the fun!
And thanks!![]()
Nice one erilaz! Would be cool to see a pic of the ignition. Just put lots of motion blur on him!!

Thanks Fetus23!
I’m attempting to do 3-4 renders for the final:
While I’m posting, can anyone tell me if particle systems/atmospheric effects are against the rules? I just want to add smoke/steam to my pipes.
This is the set up for my first shot. No time for textures unfortunately!:hmm:
Aptly titled “Back to the drawing board”
Second shot set up.
You may have noticed my lever has gone. Some of my recent files got corrupted. Dang it!
And shot 3. I know I said 4 shots before, but I think 3 will be enough!
Now All I have to do is work on these shots! I’d work on the actual scene objects a bit more, but I haven’t got time.
Bit of detail testing. I took the background photo in my home town of Castlemaine!
The particles here I’m still working on. Want to get a chunky-esque explosion happening.
No more of this challenge for me, I’m afraid.:hmm:
I’ve too many things to do over the next 24 hours, so I’m not going to have time to work on a finished piece.
If I get time, I will try to render up something to squeeze in, but otherwise, this is it for me!
Thanks all for the support on this one, it’s been fun and I’ve learnt a lot! I’ll see you all at next month’s challenge! :wavey:
I squeezed it in! Yehaaaw!
Final Entry!

Not my best work, unfortunately. I’ll try harder next time!:wavey:
You get an “A” for effort and vision Erilaz…It’s a funny piece you have put together, and I can say it’s been fun to look at…Also very clean…Nice overall job…

i guess if in some post-apocalyptical future someone would want to go somewhere far th first idea would be to shoot himself with a canon…NOT!!!
Love the concept. Good work man.:bounce:
