A question for Master Zap (Fast Skin)

#1

I have a question for someone who knows Mental Ray Fast Skin Shader’s anatomy well, preferably Master Zap since He invented it:P

Let’s say i have a Mia_Material with AO on plugged into Fast_skin_Shader’s diffuse illumination port.

Now what exactly is the relationship between fast_skin’s diffuse colour, and Mia_Material’s Diffuse colour?
Which one should i texture with an image i would normally put into Fast Skin’s diffuse colour slot (perhaps both?)?

Does one work as a multiplier for the other in such a situation, or do they add themselves?
Is there a significant difference if i texture one or the other (I’m talking about texturing the colour slots)?

I’m guessing the shader in Diffuse Illumination port inluences more then just the diffuse layer of the Misss_Fast_Skin, but affects the way sss (or FG for it) is calculted as well? Or am I guessing wrong?

Could someone point me to threads about customizing the Fast Skin shader?
Has anyone created an SPDL for Master Zap’s Fast Skin+ ?

If You could find the time to point me in the right direction, i’d be grateul.

have fun dissecting the sss skin compound…

ps: the mia material is used for the diffuse and reflection part.
