Hi everyone,
I recently finished my degree in 3D Animation and for my Masters Project I animated using MoCap data. I am now putting together my showreel and thinking how to present this animation on it. I know that with mocap animation, it is typically good to present footage of the mocap session along side the final rendered animation, to show the before and after. However, my equipment was recently stolen which included the footage of the mocap session. So I don’t have any real life footage of the mocap session. I do, however, have the BVH file, which shows the mocap session as a moving rig like skeleton in softimage. It’s the original data before it was applied to my rig and cleaned. Would it be as good to present this on the showreel next to my final rendered animation? Or is it absolutely necessary to show the real life footage of the mocap session on your showreel? Is there any other advice you would give to presenting MoCap animation on a showreel?
Thanks very much for any advice
