Same render error here with the non-GI version of your provided file(s),
on an iMac G5 and EIAS 6.5.
We were just speculating that the error was probably caused by my friend having forgotten to copy the shaders from the Schofield folder into the EI folder(s) on the slaves. Did you copy the shaders over?
Hilarious error regardless. We’re laughing over here. Looks like somebody pulled that gun out of a century old sewer pipe.
Incidentally, one of his two Macs was a G5, the other a MacPro, but they both yielded the same render result.
No, i didnt…Thank´s for mentioning that!
BTW. I never did that before, copying shaders to the EIAS folder, because EIAS is never complaining about shaders when loading a project file from other sources. Good to know this now!!!

Stefan
Hi again…
Tried the scene again with the shaders but same result as before. The only difference between your image is that my rendering looks brighter and the black spots on the gun etc. are more green and yellow.

Stefan
Yeah, you should always copy the shaders over, since EI only automatically copies texture maps. I don’t know why it doesn’t copy the shaders too. I wish it did.
So it’s still rendering like that, eh? Nuts!!!
I think the shaders need to be copied directly into the “EI Shaders” folder, not just into the EI Folder.
What shader is this? It should be resolution-independent but there are ways to write things and ways to write things.
The texturing on the gun isn’t terribly complex, but I am using three procedural shaders: aStorm in the diffuse channel, Dents in the bump channel, and bFractal in the bump, specular and reflectivity channels. It seems as if they have fused together and mutated into a new super shader: The Fury of Our Lord Poseidon of the Deep.shd.
I would love to be able to call up this effect with a preset of some kind. It’s really quite remarkable.
