A:M review from NAB

For anyone who has seen Greg do his thing at a trade show, you are probably well aware of the mesmerizing effect that he can have on an audience  Creative Mac has a pretty nice review/article up about the current version of A:M

Greg’s demo they used to send out on a video tape back in 1994 sold me on A:M back then!

ROTFLOL this one cracked me up:

“I knew what an in-betweener was before I could find Portugal on a map.”

I am portuguese

I used A:M briefly in 99 (v7 i think) guess it´s time to pay a litle visit to A:M again and maybe upgrade it…only need to get more free time :frowning:

I was at the NAB this year in Vegas!

That is where I discoverd the software. First a friend that I was with purchased it. He showed it to me when we met back up. He took me to the demonstration and I ended up purchasing it as well.
I see that the Hash studio is in Vancouver Wa. I live in Portland Or. so I think I will have to give them a visit.
Looking forward to creating with the new software.
I have found that it is super slow.
I have a new computer. It is 3ghz, 200 gig hd, 1 gig ram and should be plenty of machine to run it, but I find it really slow.
Any suggestions?

Video card?

Ohhh, good call!
In all my quest for power, I think I left the video card a bit shy…
I will have to look into that. Any recomendations?

Well i don’t currently own A:M, but I assume it uses open gl still. I would search this forum but if it is like others programs then a nvidia card fx5700 or better should be reasonable, but to get most out of your system go for a 6600 gt or 6800 series card. They do well in other apps.

Try pressing the pagedown key. It reduces the quality of the realtime display. You might have it up on the highest level.

#9

Or you could try switching the real time render option from OpenGL to Direct3D. Some cards display Direct3D faster than OpenGl and vise Versa.

Cheers

Awesome!
I will try all of these suggestions before I actually purchase the new card.
I found that I can purchase the 6600 AGP card locally for 210 dollars. I think that is the route I will go if the other suggestions do not help.
Thank you all so much for your time.
