I am sure everyone is familiar with Paul’s great “reflection” image.
I made an HDR version for everyone to experiment with in EIAS 7.

I did some editing in Photoshop to fake it (using my secret recipe)
It does have values above 1.0, so it’s a real HDR.
Let me know how it works, Paul.
I’ll be interested to see any tests you do with it.

I tried a little with it. My favorite/more familiar HDRI’s have a broader tonal range with a little bit of hot-spot. This one is quite dark but with a fairly wide heated up area so it felt a little too contrasty for me.
I can certainly see where it can be used to good effect but I couldn’t quite get it working as I would like.
Good job though.
Hi Paul.
Thanks for the honest feedback.
Try version 2. My “secret formula” is still in beta!
This should have a much broader dynamic range, and definately has a hot spot from the sun.

This map generates some noise so be prepared to increase your # primary Rays, or just blur the hdr in Photoshop a bit to smooth it out.
A fast preview is attached.
