fantastic lighting/mood. somehow the scooter doesn’t seem to fit comfortably, even though it’s probably technically correct. also the edges at the top of the door seem a little too “soft”
A Day In Valcour, Nicolas Richelet (3D)
can I give some crits?
I don’t see the cob webs in the wire frame
are they post, the ones on the bottom right of the door seem to hang not quite right.
the front wheel on the scoot intersects the floor a bit to sharply for me, the scroll type stone work above the door could be a little more aged/corroded considering built in 1761
the leaves on the floor are a nice touch, everything above the wooden door looks Uber real
maybe the door’s wood could have just a little specularity
anyway I love it, probably the most realistic environment I’ve seen
Simple concept and beautifully realised.
I understand that you have copied a real place so maybe that is what it really looks like but for effect I agree with previous post about dirt or stains on the top of ledges. Maybe more dirt in corners would be nice.
I love the spider webs
nice detail.

Outstanding job. I especially like the little touches of grass blades growing through the cracks of the concrete ground.
Everyone who displays there work on CG is good. In your case, I jokingly want to pull you down, due to the almost estudious way you’ve actually been and observed this doorway (or subject matter akin to it), first hand… I don’t know about the subject, because its obviously personal to you, but on a technical level; wonderful stuff.
I suppose we’re supposed to give a kind of critique on these things, so although an A+ as far as I’m concerned, the lantern and the bike could do with a few more touches to enhance their age, if that’s what you are already trying to achieve.
Although you have given the impression of their decay in the use of dulling paint and rust, maybe some distortion could be applied to the shape and structure of these things… Some way of illustrating their practical use as items over the years they’ve been hanging here… a slightly buckled wheel… whatever…
Gorgeous piece… I’ve said it before, but I wish I was a patient person. Loved the foliage and granite.
amazing. I love it. although to me, it is alittle more intimidating than peaceful. Maybe because the sheer size of the door and camera angle. But really really nice.
