A couple of basic alpha questions

#1

Hi - a couple of simple questions for you regarding alpha transparency for a layer in Combustion:

  1. How can you apply a greyscale image to a layer so it is used for Alpha transparency?

  2. What is the best way to get a Photoshop document with Alpha transparency into Combustion with transparency preserved? I’ve tried saving as TIFF and ti works great. Are there any other ways and if so what are the differences?

Thanks.

You can use the Set Matte or Compound Alpha Arithmetic.

Use PSD, PNG, Targa. Any format supported for the two softwares, respecting its necessity of quality and use (bit depth, layers)
