You need some tweaking on wheels
suggestions ?

well…so do i … buti would end up , rendering it in the same style as the other cars … just to keep the unity
simply great
danke man … aber nicht so gut wie dein wunderschone volvo
Maybe a smaller, flatter sidewall on the front wheels…? Would also lend to a more raked suspension.

done !! … good point …look better now … at least i think
did some good progress today …
next step … do a liscence plate , tweack the tires ( too black right now )
then create my mental ray renderpass and mask …
tweacking for optimal rendertime
then finally prepare my flow for post process in fusion

Haha thats looking great man… really really good.
Materials look good, modeling, stripes, all well done. Now, do you use a smoothing operation or sub-Ds?

i use mental ray subdivision aproximation at render time
Hi Chris,
I think the wheels still do not fit the muscle car.
Somehow I have feeling those are from toy then “real” car.
My sugestion is to make wheel thinner. I believe it will fit better, even your goal is to make stylized car.

hi david .
i would love to disagree with you on this one …
the rear wheels , are not that exagerate at all , after all …i saw some real muscle cars … with exactly the same kind of wheels …
or may be do you mean the thikness of the tires on the front wheels ?
i could try to make them a little bit thinner on the next update …just for you
I think what he means is that the rim should sink into the tire a bit more. tires that fat and wide would droop out past the rim unless of course it had like 900psi in the tires. I think this is great work. I actually have my friends red SS of the same year waiting in my drive way for a new floor to be welded in. Ill show this to my friend, im sure he’d appreciate it. But his is Red With the Black Racing stripes.
started tonight with the multipass setup …
a first tentative … getting it in the right direction , trying to make sure that it would fit with the other one in my portfolio

Another great looking car to your amazing virtual garage.
Im not sure how much you touched the wheels but now they looks great and fit teh car perfectly. Perhaps I should believe to your insctings before judge you .))
Is the render came from Maya Mental Ray?
hi david ,

this being only a test … i did touch the whell only on one side , based on your critique … and it did work … ( inflated the rear tire a litlle bit more … )
Perhaps I should believe to your insctings before judge you .
hat why i post in the wip forum … to get some input … and in this case, your eyes , saw stuff i did not saw … thx again or that
Is the render came from Maya Mental Ray?
yes maya mental ray , and post process in fusion
actually , i would eventually run some more test … more and more i look at it … more do ithink that this is kind of too dark

Can you pimp my Audi A4?? – Again a really well done model for your cg garage. It seems to be time to put all cars together in a virtual showroom isn’t it?
those renderings are so cool, like mentioned you should put the cars in some showroom!
are you doing the glow in post or ist this some special mray shader?
