Well the title is quite self-explanatory, i wonder if it’s somehow possible to reduce a 60fps progressive video down to 50 interlaced without getting visually irregular framerate. The target media is a PAL DVD.
Tried frame blending and pixel motion to interpolate.
I see an improvement compared to plain 50fps reduction, but it’s not perfect.
I wonder if there’s a magical tool out there that can fix this kind of stuff or is the only solution to reduce in half…?

Depends on how important it is to you, I guess, but you may try RevisionFX’ Twixtor Pro. Since it allows you to control the motion vectors using secondary inputs, e.g. the luminance of the image or external channels, you should eventually be able to get better results. It will never be perfect, though. One thing you might try also is an inverse pulldown, i.e. create a faux 24p sequence out of the 60 fps, then re-interpret the 24fps as 25 for DVD…
