3dsmax Procedural material programming language?

Hola,

Normaly I go by “daftpunk” however, the server seems to think there is already one of me, when the list reveals none… so, for now, I am CupOWonton till I can inquire about the name.

Anywho, I was hoping someone here could explain what language and what editor is needed to open up procedural material files for max, specificly versions 4-7. Im trying to adapt an old material to work on max 7 at my company, I was hoping someone could spread some light on my problem.

no editor, sorry :smiley:
but if you have the sources, it’s just c++ and max sdk (specifically visual studio seems to be recommended)
