[3DS Max Zbrush ] V Ray Shader and Character Sculpt Discussion

Hey Guys!

I’ve started a new head sculpt and wanted to get an amazing skin detail! So decided to
start this new rendering adventure with Vray, and I’m already stuck :confused:

Here’s how it stands atm,

  • Simple VraySSS2 (Pink Skin) applied to the head sculpt exported from zBrush.
  • Eye consists in 3 meshes : Lens ; Sclera ; Pupil (small plane sitting behinh sclera)

Very quick setup for the eye, just using diffuse (for now):
As you can see, I’ve added a VRayHDRI on Render Setup as Reflection/refraction environment.

I wanted to avoid the HDRI to show on the enviroment, so I just went for this option !?

This is head sculp LOD 02, just to make a quick test.

Render with Reflection/Refraction enviroment ON

Render with Reflection/Refraction enviroment OFF

I wanted to get nice reflections on the eyes by maybe using the hdri map, but it seams to burn my sss2 shader. Any suggestions ?
