The Swedish VFX+animation studio [b]Important Looking Pirates[/b] talks about their work on creating sharks, parrot and water sims in "Kon-Tiki". They also prepared a walk-through showing how they created the epic shot of the shark on a raft, using Maya and Mudbox.

Next up is French artist based out of the Toronto-area, [b]Hugues Giboire[/b] -- the artist behind the stylized portrait of a Himba tribal woman in the image "Shades of Dambu". We talked to Hugues about "Shades of Dambu", past game titles (Heavenly Sword), as well as an upcoming illustration he's working on [font=Arial][size=2]using Maya and Mudbox -- don't miss the the WIP images at the end! He also wrote a tutorial defining the creative process behind "Shades of Dambu".

And today's feature interview is with [b]Eric Mootz /MOOTZOID[/b]: the technical artist who has developed a serious library of custom Softimage plugins that are quietly being used in many stunning commercial spots and films -- they are the go-to solution for artists who need to deliver stunning eye candy in a short amount of time.
