Anyone has the newest issue I think #37? They have a review between six low-cost 3D packages: 3D Toolkit, Pixels, Carrara, Hash, Strata, Infini-D.
3D Toolkit (Light version of Electric Image) won, mainly due to it’s mature pedigree. I’d love to read the review in its full glory.

Yeah I’m a subscriber so I got it this week.
A:M didn’t do very well because they couldn’t get the stability out of it to do their self-imposed test scene. (both Mac and PC versions)
To their credit they called A:M “a Giant Killer in-waiting”
It was a bit of a dissapointing read for me because due to adverse financial conditions I’m going to be reluctantly selling my legit copy of Lightwave and my plan was to upgrade my extremely old copy of A:M [version 4 lol! ] to the latest version of A:M (is it v10 these days?) so I could at least keep one hand in my personal 3D work.
Looks like I’ll just have to save often eh?

Sorry to hear about your financial situation. Hope it improves.
I’m no power user, in fact i’m a newbie. But, stability hasn’t been a huge problem for me with A:M … so far. Best of luck with your upgrade.
Newest version is 10.l but 10.5(8) is the newest for the alpha. By the way AM is getting more stable by the release. Way better than the v9 revisions. You arent making a mistake getting v10 - it really is very good! :>
They seemed to have problems with ALL the software. AM seems to be stabilising new coding architecture whereas as EI and Strata look and feel very clunky to use.
On the other hand I was really interested to read Brian Taylors comments about wrestling Rustboy out of infini-d and then compare with Jeff Lews comments about his Killer Bean work.
version10 is really stable. I know somewhere are some bugs, but hey every software has some! I think A:M is on a good way, and it gets every weekend with new updates better and better. It’s not a mistake to buy A:M!
