I was skimming through this month’s issue of 3D World magazine (Aug 2005) in a local bookstore and came across a great article and tutorial written by Shaun Freeman about using fan bones and smart skin to smooth out your character’s mesh during joint rotations in A:M.
Wow! This has been an area in A:M I have been trying my best to improve on and his article really has pointed me in a direction that has provided immeadiate positive results.
I wanted to thank Shaun Freeman for taking the time to write the article and I’d like to recommend it to anyone curious about how to make your mesh’s joints deform nicely while rotaing its bones.
So thank you Shaun and, to everyone else who has been struggling in this area, check it out
