3d production planning

Hello all

I’m currently setting up the “3d pipeline / structure” in our company.
We are using maya as our main software.

What I’m wondering about is:

  • What kind of folderstructure are you using in your 3d projects? Maya’s default project setup, or have you created your own?

  • Since there often is more then one guy working on the same “scene”, how do you have controll over the latest versions of textures, files etc. Are all the people that work on that scene, setting their working project to a folderstructure on a fileserver?

  • What kind of renderfarm software are you using? We have both windows and os x systems.

  • Are you using some kind of “storyboard” / “shot planning” software?

If you have some other inputs, like links or anything on planning/setting up a 3d production please give me a hint
