#43

OMG!! the hand is so amazing. Two Thumbs up!!! can’t wait to see more

#44

The effort put into this is just beyond words o.o This is truly incredible work! I can’t wait to see this finished!

#45

I think the adult looks amazing. 5 Stars for him. But the cherub’s face leaves a little to be desired. All in all, fantastic.

#46

the head of chield is unproportional to little body…remodel it…

#47

great resemblance to the painting! :applause: hope you plan to render it in an ‘artesque’ way as well. i’m looking forward to seeing it completed! keep it up!

#48

Hey Anand, its comingout fantastic man, cant wait for the final renders ! 5* from me:thumbsup:

#49

Hi CoolBreeze… thanks!

Hi Chris! thanks… I am hoping to finish it pretty soon!

Hi Sean! thanks! I am working on the baby.

Hi Homero! thanks, dude! I am remodeling the head.

Hi phyllit! thanks! I am planning to render it with a marble shader.

Hey Sri Ram! thanks, man.

Update: I thought the baby’s expression didnt go well with the old man’s worried look and the general mood of the scene, so I remodeled the head and gave it a different expression… need to work on the hair a bit more, and also want to show the right hand clutching the grandpa’s hair. Lets see how far it goes… hehe!

#50

Baby is muuuch better now.

Good work

#51

Much better, this is coming along very well.

#52

total respect dude !
the baby looks really less naive ! keep it up and nice work.

#53

Very Impressive work…:applause:

some small things you could watch:

for the kid:

make the head of the kid maybe even 10% smaller
tilt head slightly foreward and a bit more to the left
the limbs of the kid are maybe a bit to long (right arm does not need to bend that far)
the body of the kid could be shortend a bit too
make the upper chest a bit fatter and move the belly button up
make the back of the kid arch more up, that he is laying onto the head of the man more like he’s laying over it,
set the pelvis more to the back an make his right knee lay yust over his back muscle, right leg kan be fatter as wel.
left knee can be turned more inward.
right foot end shoeld rest on collerbone
make the hair of the kid like his father; curly

man:

make tip of nose more wide
triseps bigger, deltoids bigger, make his chest wider.

eyes can be 10% smaller on both kid and man, but hey I like big eyes.

for better comperrison to origenal, please take screengrab from a angle like 5
degrees to the right, thx

keep em posting,

-seeyalater-

a quick PS

#54

crumbs this is humbling, amazing work

#55

Second that~!…awesome work!

#56

Hi Leffa! thanks!

thanks again, Sean!!

Hi Lacrevette! thanks!

Hi seeyalater! thanks a lot for the feedback!! I will fix them before the next update… well, most of them…:D… not all, because I am not aiming at an exact 3d representation of the painting(I couldnt pull that off anyways… hehe!! …). I am rather looking for a similar “feel”… also, Rubens more often than not exaggerated his figures to emphasise character and body language… I dont think I could do that effectively in 3d partly because it will be seen from all sides and partly because I havent reached that level of confidence. For example, the guy’s body definitely looks bigger in the painting but if I match that in 3d, it might become an overkill as he is already huge… painters can take much more liberty with figures than us poor sculptors.

Hey LazyGunn!! thanks…!!

Hey Vikram!! thanks for the support, dude!!

update on the baby’s hands…
