Develop your skills as a Technical Director

Mastering Maya: Developing Modular Rigging Systems with Python brings you into the world of technical tool development like no other product on the market today. Learn how to create a robust rigging toolset for non-destructive application of powerful animation rigs.

Become an animator’s favorite TD

Ready to take your first steps into the challenging and rewarding world of character technical direction? As a high-end character TD, your job is not going to be as heavily focused upon the actual rigging of characters so much as developing intuitive tools that ease the rigging process for the entire animation pipeline. That is exactly what we deliver in Mastering Maya: Developing Modular Rigging Systems with Python!

As you progress through the videos in this set, you’re certainly going to learn a lot about rigging, but the act of rigging itself is not our focus. Instead, we guide you through the entire process of scripting a powerful rigging toolset that makes rigging so simple that it could potentially be handled by the animator, rather than requiring a lot of back-and-forth with a rigger. We will teach you how to create a tool that redefines the roles played by TD and animator, and teaches you a vast array of critical thinking skills for creating your own tools in the future.

Join us as we hone and develop your TD skills through over 200 individual video lessons, spanning over 50 hours of in-depth lecture. Nowhere on earth will you find such an intensive look at such an ambitious technical development project, handled with 3D Buzz’s signature level of quality and detail!

I would say people should look at the second page to watch the video of how you can use the tool. Its pretty amazing.

That looks awesome! There isn’t much material on rigging, it’s really nice seeing a DVD on it!

Time to start saving cash!

Awesome! Looks great, the buy button looks tempting enough : )

There is no faster way for Rigging (or any department for that matter) to tick off an animator than by telling them they have to participate in the actual rigging of a character. That’s why they’ve specialized in animation in the first place! 99 out of 100 animators HATE the process of rigging … just fyi.
But regardless, the tool does look very robust and comprehensive (extremely similar to the toolset developed for rigging at Rhythm & Hues back in 2003 for their work on the first Narnia movie).

??? I don’t work in 3D Buzz. Just posted this in case somebody needs it. I even don’t use Maya.

Just copy pasted text from their site.
