Hello, I’d like to offer my freelance services as a 3D Modeler/ Texture artist. I’m currently available to join a professional company.
Graduated with a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, I recieved a traditional Fine Art and Illustration education. Out of this degree came much writing and expressing of my thoughts and ideas as an artist. Most of this writing pointed to something within myself and that was I wanted to create something never seen before. I also wanted to create a new breed of expression and ideas through characters and conceptual design. So this boiled down to the originality of my art and that it came from myself and what I wanted to see come to life. My greatest dream for my 3D profession is to provide a company with an idea that excites and opens the dusty gates to a subjected perspective. In other words, the things that excite are ones of conflict and the rejoicing in continuous accomplished adventure. My hope is to make this adventure show to others unique ways to think about their friends and their foes. I believe this idea creates characters and environments never seen before.
Not long after I graduated from MIAD, I began to notice that the technology of creating illustration was changing. First it changed into digital painting then as 3D applications became more affordable for a single artist, 3D graphics became a new foundation for creating fantasic imagery. I fell in love with the way you could sculpt a virtual model and take pictures of it in multiple perspectives. This was advantageous oppossed to painting because in a painting I would have to repaint an entire scene if I wanted a new composition. In 3D I can simply move the objects and camera within the computer with minimal effort to get a new composition. Characters and objects were therefore resuable where a single painting was not. Taking this newfound appreciation for 3D graphics I applied to and graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle where I recieved an AAA in Computer Animation Arts. I never devalued the application of graphite and paint to a board; Even still this is the most natural and convincing way to design models and entire digital scenes. I understand that the computer just enables the abitlity to develope mutiple images faster as a tool out of post-realization.
To let you know, I have freelance experience and very successful customer satisfaction. I was born in the 70's and have grown up loving video games and animation ever since then. I have always had a strong desire to work in Team based artistic environments, specifically in the entertaining arts. Let me know if you have any other questions, Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jason Westmas
