Asorson Studios is seeking an environment illustrator or graphic artist with a proven track record to create screens for a 2d video game. This will be a contract position spanning several months. The ideal candidate is a full-time freelance artist who is comfortable and experienced working and communicating remotely, and who has a large and diverse portfolio of artwork from previous professional projects.
The art style we are looking for is polished, modern and pseudo-realistic, though less subtle and more dramatic than photo-realism. The screens could be created through a hybrid of photo-manipulation and digital painting or pure digital painting, as long as the desired output is achieved. We are not looking for pre-rendered 3d artwork. We are also not looking for the rough look of conceptual art or a “painterly” rendering style. The level of quality, rendering style and complexity of the images will be similar to those seen at the link below, though the settings, theme and atmosphere will differ. Both interiors and exteriors will be included so the ideal candidate must be comfortable producing landscape elements as well as architecture and objects.
