Good news guys! We have finished the 2d animatic/previs!!

Musicraker is going to edit it either today or tomorrow. We’ll have the previs to show to the animators before monday.

Here’s a few notes about the animatic that need to be changed.
[ul][]Scene 19: Cut 0:55 - 0:57 where he’s bending back to look at the hole.[]Scene 20: Cut the hop back and hop forward at 1:01 - 1:05[]Scene 26 & 27: Seems to have been missed. Add this run and jump sequence at 1:19[]Scene 29: Hold frame at 1:22 for a second and cut the two frames following where he looks up at the hole and then returns to his “at rest” slumped position.[]Scene 30: See if you can’t fix the timing on the 2D sequence that I did. It’s lost the timing that I had originally intended (see the animated GIFs). If someone wants to replace this with 3D animatic, I wouldn’t be offended.[]Scene 32: Cut the sitting turn at 1:43 - 1:45[]Scene 34: Cut this whole bit and add to the beginning of scene 35. Orange stands up and then turns to look at the hole over his shoulder.[]Scene 35: Hold the frame at 1:56 for about a second before he begins to move forward.[]Scene 45: At 2:16 I had storyboarded one of the gray cubes in front to take a fall and slide into view at 2:19. What happened to this?[]Scene 47: Frame at 2:22 could be held longer to emphasize the departure of Orange. Add 3.5 seconds hold here.[]Scene 49: Camera movement to the right at 2:30 shouldn’t be there. Straight down then pull back for the next shot.[]Scene 50: Double the speed in the pull back at 2:35 - 2:40[/ul]

Kirt, I’ll fix the things in question. Please look again for shots 26 and 27, they are most definately there. Maybe I didn’t do them the way you foresaw? I don’t have the frames in front of me at the moment but look at 22 seconds in through the end of 24 seconds in. If thats not what you are looking for please let me know.

im working on cutting the animatic now… Should I wait for Velk to do these changes before fixing the full animatic?? Im confused about what is being changed, the final cut, or each piece?

ok, i’ve changed and updated scenes 29-33 and 44-50 (except the scen 50 camera movement, because i didn’t do that scene)

Thats a good question, if we are talking about cuts than those should be done in the edit.

here is what I think we should do, for the shots that require changing camer angles, movements (anything that requires re-render), should be done by the animatic people. I will go ahead and take care of all of the cutting changes. That way we can divide out the tasks and get this approved and to the masses asap.

What do you guys think

I didn’t see where the final animatic was posted, so this is the version that I’m referring to with all the changes mentioned. The cuts and hold frames should be easily fixed by the editor. There’s only a few spots there that need additional work by the pre-vis artists.

ok Ill work on all the cutting and timing changes this afternoon…Once I recieve the new scenes from the pre-vis artists I will stick those in and export a new version for you to see.

Ok all, Ive got the editing done and approved by Kirt, although I still need the following changes from the animatic artists.

Scene 34: Cut this whole bit and add to the beginning of scene 35. Orange stands up and then turns to look at the hole over his shoulder.

Scene 45: At 2:16 I had storyboarded one of the gray cubes in front to take a fall and slide into view at 2:19. What happened to this? (not sure if we are missing this or not, I do see a grey cube sliding out of the croud, so im not sure), but its something that isnt an editing job.

Scene 49: Camera movement to the right at 2:30 shouldn’t be there. Straight down then pull back for the next shot.Im guessing for this just a re-render with a straight vertical camera move here)

So once I get these fix’s I can stick them in and we will be good to go. :slight_smile:

the change to 45 is in the thread for 44-50, i just re-uploaded over the original file so if you download 44-50 it will have the grey cube sliding

i can’t change the problem with the camera in 49 though, you’ll have to ask woddyradica because he did that scene

and paperclip great work so far!

Anyway i just wanted to post here the old work I did for it, to see if it helps a bit.

I have taken the storyboard updates and notes done by Kirt and
converted it into a new animatic
