2.4b Death by OpenGL!

#1

Messiah is dying when openGL is initiated during program startup.

Running a Dual core Athlon with a GeForce 6600GT here Nvidia drivers version 81.98. WinXP Pro.

Did a search for this problem and found people quite a while ago recommending an older Nvidia driver version to upgrade to (from their perspective they were upgrading to a new driver version which fixed the problem - which is older than my current driver… am I making sense?)

Anyone else having this issue with the latests drivers or can recommend a driver version which works with Messiah on a Dual Core system?

That sucks. What are your settings? Might help to post up some screengrabs of the advanced settings.

Its funny that nvidia people are having problems…now us ATI users can set back and chuckle…until we have a problem again:)

None of the 8X drivers have ever worked for me. I have had to stick with the latest 7X.

yes, the official Nv drivers suck @ss, we have to use beta drivers on all our dual core systems. The dual core opengl issue affects more 3D app than just messiah.

Hope that one works for you or else you can try more beta drivers from

www.tweaksrus.com

then there is the Windows XP SP2 Dual Core Performance Fix

http://www.amdzone.com

You have to ask ms for the fix or google a link to get it.

Thanks people, hadn’t heard of the Dual Core/XP issues.

I’ll look at trying the 84.25 drivers… before I do, have they worked ok for you Nando? On what type of system?

It’s a brand new system, so I’m hesitant before starting to meddle with it.
