That it ,come on man thats the reason y this thread went down the drain to begin with,i think i will through a challenge to get people involve if that.it dosn’t have to be a balls buster but some thing interesting.like character animation etc.think about it.

#3

Hey, having something simple and short might actually be helpful getting people involve in this forum. I have to admit that even though I would love to get into a hardcore challenge I simply don’t have time with work  so, personally I think it would be nice to see more short foundational challenges popping up here. Hopefully I’ll start my on Friday night.

#4

I will give it a shot. When you say front or side view acceptable, does that mean that perspective is out?

#5

Yes Jeslinger, perspective out for this comp. because the focus should be bouncing, lets say first step of timing and spacing knowledge…

#6

Hi AbsorbentGhost , you maybe right from start i think we should keep simple then keep it up forward…otherwise people will not be interested if it is so complicated, but to be complicated time will come also, fir me right now i try to understand really people interested ithis or not, i want to see it )

#7

#8

well if all against one then i’ll agree but aleast state a proper heading for the challenge so it can be a standard thread ie

UAC (User Animation Challlenge) followed by the title “Bouncing ball”

so it is like

UAC #1 Bouncing ball

#9

Well, I think it’s a good start.
I mean, it’s a simple animation that can be made in about 2 hours top. So, it’s a great way to call for some fresh people in the forums like myself, cause it’s not something to scare newcomers altough it has the potencial to evolve into something more exciting.
I’ll try this one and post the result next week =].

hi…this is my first animation in this forum…

thank u…

hi Evilromance , quic analyze you need more bouncing, it can be heavy but whatever it hasto bounce several times( depends on animation) and rotation is quite much you should fix it also. When thwe ball has contact with floor it has to continuou his way(it has to go at least little x positive direction in your animation) . First thing first stop rotation sliding of the balls.

thank you to join it

p.s for this competation i may not have time to join but for second comp. i am gonig to join it

Hey Evilromance welcome to the forum.
I like your illustration of weight with the ball’s impact. It really gives since of heaviness to the object.
I would however agree with Egeman that the ball should have more reaction to the impact. A heavy object impacting a solid surface would still carry a good amount of energy so, adding in a bounce or a roll would help to diffuse this energy.

Here is my submission for the challenge

here is a simple key framed animation and with a short rigid animation.

Hi Phantom422 , your animation looks good for start but you should be more careful about timing and spacing, first you look at timing(where you put your keys ,should be on time) then look at spacing, how the ball acting between two keys, you should check them and i am sure it will be better step for you

p.s : ball rolling too much at the end of animation i think it should be shorter rolling away…

#17

hi AbsorbentGhost , you should check the rules…

#19

hi, Be careful to rotate, When will stop spinning

#20

hi Reactric, it seems cool ,just 2 things i can say ,falling should be faster or lets say timing cn be ok but spacing might be fix as i see,and at the end of animation ball can spin more while loosing energy it could be more believablr, but it looks cool
