Concept / pre-visualization: Walking City

These are my first sketches. First one is completely diffrent idea. Three other are walking city. I just want to do nice and good looking picture. Quite simple composition and perspective. I have no time for hard to paint things. I have chosen the second one. Maybe I change my decision if the image will be going wrong.

You're joining pretty late - but those are some really nice colors in your comps. I like the top one because the human in it helps give a nice sense of scale and foreground/background separation. What myth or legend is this supposed to represent?

Work In Progress: The old man and the sky

When I've started painting there wasn't any idea of myth or legent in my head. Later I started thinking what can it be. The Tower of Babel. It will be my legend if I don't do the next concept (below).

This new picture is based on Ernest Hemingway Tale "The old man and the sea". I only don't know - it is able to use popular tales?

I wish to have a better idea. Now is to late to thinking about it.

Concept / pre-visualization: Don Quixote

I've finally decided to do something like my first sketch. But I've changed the idea. The character in the foreground will be famous don Quixote and those thing will be the engines (instead of windmills).

This is my sketch. I'll try to do something with more steampunk feel finally.

Work In Progress: Don Quixote

Here is my work after about 7 hours of painting. I didn't work on the character yet. I wanted to have nice environment before I'll paint the character.
I'm happy with some elements of this painting, but the whole image is still something that I have to work on.

Final Image: Don Quixote: Suppressor of engines

Software: Photoshop

Don Quixote (Don Kichote) and his servant Sancho Panza in the front of their new challenge! Their legend is known around the world. These huge engines are threat for the environment. Brave adventurer Don Quixote will save the world from those things!

Sorry for that, but I just have to post the third "final image". I've change image a little bit. I've add some sky perspective to do nice mood. The distance betweend characters and engines was hard to feel.

balloontree: Nice to hear this kind of words from the person like you;).
