Smile is SVA better than SCAD?

hi, everyone. My undergraduate major is graphic design but I am crazy about animation so I applied graduate school. I have been accepted by sva (mfa computer art, animation) and SCAD (mfa animation). I always want to become a computer animator after graduate study, I was wondering which school is a better choice?

I'm finishing up at SVA and my experience has been great!
I'm moving out to LA for work but I've been freelancing in NYC this past semester.

Take a look at my reel!

Also. NYC has a big CG market so you can intern and freelance at CG studios while you go to school.

I'm 1st year student in the MFACA program at SVA and I have to say that it's a good program because you learn from the people around you. the connections you get will help you in the long run. Schools mean nothing honestly, it's about your efforts. The hardwork is what matters, so SCAD or SVA, just think about how hard you're willing to work. If you decide to join SVA, I can throw some info about the classes and the need to knows.

Thank you very much!
Are you also going to animation program? I have heard that lots of SVA graduates work at Pixar, is that true? By the way, could I have your msn or email so that I can contact you some time.

Pixar? No not many. 1 person who graduated 2 years ago is staffed there now. Another interned their last year and this summer one will intern there.

I'm a 1st year student in the MFACA Department and I can tell you that the program is good because you learn from those around you. It really doesn't matter which school you choose. It's all about the work you put in. Once you understand all the opportunities available in animation, you may not even think about Pixar.

Here's a few link from the students graduating this year:

I hope to see you next year.

Hey, I'm starting the MFA Computer Art program at SVA this fall too Any suggestions on preparations? I come from a Computer Science undergrad background for the most part but I'm spending my time now learning a wide range of basic cg concepts to see which direction I want to go in.

Hi Daniel, there are a few different areas in MFA computer art program. I'm gonna focus on animation. What about you?

Hey Meng, I hope my emails helped you out. I pretty much told you all the things I wish someone had told me before I entered the program.

@Dan if you have any questions about the department you can email me @ shihanbarbee@gmail.com

Meng, well I'm probably going to do animation as well since the other tracks are not the direction I want to head in at the moment.

Shi, thanks a lot, I'll e-mail you right now
