Object going through particles

Hello
This is my first project on after effects , so I’m not sure how to achieve this look
I like to have an object go through particle cloud
I got render layer of the object by itself, the cloud by itself and the Z-depth of the object

I assume I should be getting the z-dpeth of the clouds ?
How can I go about this project
Please advice or pint me to a tutorial
Thanks

Aharon Rabinowitz has a tutorial on placing objects within the middle of a particle system:
