I worked on this image this week while inbetween projects. I wanted to get a chance to use Zbrush 4 and was really happy for the opportunity to jump into this. I had a lot of fun making a dragon because I've never made one before. I referenced some cool concepts from a guy named Ville who actually has a profile on here, so you should check out his stuff ;) I liked the pose and style of all of his work...but mostly (obviously) his dragon. I veered away from the original and got on this lava kick and wanted to personalize the design. I wanted her to look like she is obviously at the top of a non-existent food chain of a barren world. I used Maya for creating my meshes, Zbrush for sculpting, Photoshop for final compositing.
