Old World Charm

With the modernization of the world around them, car collectors in 2050 have turned to retrofitting forgotten classics with the newest technology. This classic Buick in celebration of it's 100th anniversary, has been retrofitted with the latest anti-gravity technology pods, and a new cockpit with automated pilot controls and head up displays for navigation and information gathering. The original headlamp assembly has been removed and replaced with air ducts to cool the hyper-accelerator drives that provide forward/aft propulsion controls. Dual purpose forward running lights have been added for visual recognition during night ops, and reversible photovoltaic cells during the day to assist in charging the batteries for the anti-gravity drive. Advancements in photovoltaic cells has led to much smaller surface area requirements for practical use.

I wanted to portray a more retro style car after looking at my first image and studying some of syd mead's older material from his US Steel days. All painting was done with Photoshop CS4.

Hope you like. Good luck to all.
It's not who you are on the inside...but what you do that defines you.

Buick Motor Division was found May 19 1903 and in 2050 it will celebrate 2050-1903=147 years
(It originated as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company in 1899, an independent internal combustion engine and motor-car manufacturer, and was later incorporated as the Buick Motor Company on May 19, 1903)

Nice done work, i creating my entry in CS4 too

Thanks for the reply Reactive, when I meant celebrate, I meant the vehicle rather than the company
